MOTU Universal Audio Installer for Mac OS X

This package installs updated Mac OS X drivers and software for all MOTU FireWire, USB, Hybrid, and PCI-424 audio interfaces. FW/USB (v1.6.54199), PCI (v1.6.53876), MicroBook (v1.6.52865), and CueMix FX (v1.6.55333).

The CueMix FX app now supports PCI-424 systems and replaces the legacy CueMix Console app. Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later is recommended. This update also contains CueMix FX support for TouchOSC and TouchOSC Layouts 1.0 for MOTU products. Supports Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Supported MOTU products include:

MOTU Universal Audio Installer for Windows

This installer (version 4.0.55333) installs updated drivers and software for all MOTU FireWire, USB, Hybrid, and PCI-424 audio interfaces for Windows 7, 8, Vista, and XP. 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported. The CueMix FX app now supports PCI-424 systems and replaces the legacy CueMix Console app. This update also contains CueMix FX support for TouchOSC and TouchOSC Layouts 1.0. The minimum required legacy Windows versions are Vista SP2 and XP SP3. Supported MOTU products include:

Audio Express Firmware v1.03

This program updates the Audio Express firmware to version 1.03. Do not attempt to use this updater with any other MOTU audio or MIDI interface.

Open the ZIP archive to extract the updater program, and follow the on-screen instructions to install the update. The archive also includes a README file that contains detailed instructions.

Traveler mk3 Firmware v1.02 Updater for Windows

This installer updates a Traveler mk3 to firmware version 1.02. To determine which firmware version is currently installed on your Traveler mk3, look at the front panel LCD while the interface boots or check the Traveler mk3 tab of the MOTU Audio Console program.

This update does not apply to original Travelers.

8pre Firmware v1.03

This program updates the 8pre firmware to version 1.03.

828mk3 Firewire Firmware v1.06 Updater for Windows

This installer updates an 828mk3 to firmware version 1.06. To determine which firmware version is currently installed on your 828mk3, look at the front panel LCD while the interface boots or check the 828mk3 tab of the MOTU Audio Console program.

This update does not apply to the original 828, 828mkII, 828mkII USB or 828mk3 Hybrid.

UltraLite Firmware v1.15

This program updates the original UltraLite firmware to version 1.15.

This firmware is compatible only with original UltraLites. It is not compatible with UltraLite mk3s or UltraLite mk3 Hybrids.

Traveler Firmware v1.07

This program updates the original Traveler firmware to version 1.07.

This firmware is compatible only with original Travelers. It is not compatible with Traveler mk3s.

MOTU Universal Audio Install for Mac OS X 10.4

Use this installer if you are using Mac OS X 10.4.x. This installer installs FireWire, USB and PCI audio interface drivers for Mac OS X 10.4.x.

Extract the contents of the ZIP archive to reach the installer program named MOTU Audio Installer. The archive also contains additional documentation to supplement the audio interface User Guide.

Traveler mk3 Firmware Update for Mac OS X

Extract the contents of the ZIP archive. The extracted folder contains a README file with installation instructions.

This installer updates a Traveler mk3 to firmware version 1.02. To determine which firmware version is currently installed on your Traveler mk3, look at the front panel LCD while the interface boots or check the Traveler mk3 tab of the MOTU Audio Setup application.

This update does not apply to original Travelers.

828mk3 Firewire Firmware Update- Mac

This is a maintenance update for the 828mk3 Firewire interface. Do not use this update for the 828, 828mkII, 828mkII USB, or 828mk3 Hybrid.

Unzip archive. Run the enclosed updater and follow onscreen instructions. 828mk3 users should also download and install the latest drivers, v.1.48 (or later).

8pre Firmware Update- Mac

This is a maintenance update for the 8pre.

Unzip archive. Run the enclosed updater and follow onscreen instructions. 8pre users should also download and install the latest drivers, v.1.48 (or later).

MOTU Universal Audio Install- OSX 10.3

Use this install if you are using one of the supported interfaces below, and are running OSX 10.3.x (10.3.9 is recommended).

Installer contains a driver update for the MOTU 828, 896, 828mk2, 828mk2 USB, 896HD, Traveler, UltraLite, and 8pre. Cuemix console supports external control surfaces, talkback & listenback capabilities, and I/O port names. Refer to .pdf below.

Unzip and double-click installer, enter OSX Administrator password, choose Firewire USB install option, follow on-screen instructions and restart.

MOTU Universal Audio .pdf

UltraLite 1.1.5 Firmware Update (OSX)

File will update your UltraLite to the latest version 1.1.5 firmware. This file is for the original MOTU UltraLite only. Not for use with UltraLite mk3.

Expand the .zip. Power up in Firmware Update mode by holding down the PAGE and CURSOR buttons while powering on UltraLite. Run the Setup file in the archive. Follow the on-screen instructions.

MOTU Firewire and USB Audio Drivers for x64

64-bit support for MOTU 828, 896, 828mk2, 896HD, Traveler, UltraLite and 8pre. New Cuemix has control surface support, and talkback & listenback capabilities. Refer to update notes .pdf (below) for more info.

Unzip to expand. Run the installer.

Traveler 1.07 Firmware Update (OSX)

File will update your Traveler to the latest version 1.07 firmware. This file is for MOTU Traveler users only.

Expand the .zip, and run the Setup file in the archive. Follow the on-screen instructions.

MOTU Firewire Drivers and Consoles OSX

This install provides compatibility updates for Tiger OSX 10.4, and is compatible with OSX versions back to Jaguar 10.2.x. Version also contains maintenance firmware updates for the Traveler. Installer contains a version 1.2.5 driver update for the MOTU 828, 896, 828mk2, 896HD and Traveler. New Cuemix console supports external control surfaces, talkback & listenback capabilities, and I/O port names under Panther. See .pdf below.

Unzip and double-click installer, enter OSX Administrator password, and follow on-screen instructions. Traveler users can also install the Traveler Hardware Update version 1.05 via Custom Install.

Traveler users who do not have the version 1.07 ROM should download the ROM updater (available as a separate download). The ROM version appears on the front LCD of the Traveler when powering up.

Unstuff with Expander version 7.03 or higher. Double-click installer and choose the installer option for your MOTU Firewire audio hardware.

Unstuff archive with Stuffit Expander 5 or 7. Installer has options to install MAS Only, MAS & PCI-324 Drivers, or MAS & Firewire Drivers.
