Film/Video Scoring Enhancements
Enhanced Find Tempo
Digital Performer's unique Find Tempo command lets you zero in on the perfect tempo for your soundtrack by calculating which tempos deliver the most "hits" - moments in time where significant points in the action on-screen match the downbeats of your score.
If you've never used Find Tempo, there's never been a better time to jump in. You'll establish just the right tempo for your cues in minutes.
If you're a seasoned Find Tempo veteran, you'll love the enhancements to this feature in Digital Performer 4.6. Enter the start time for the first tempo explicitly in the new Start bar. Set the BPM note value for the tempo range independently of the resolution of the metric grid you are searching on. Work with sub-frame accuracy, both for the searched tempos and for viewing and establishing the sequence start time and offset. The Total Hits column has been expanded to display the maximum number of total hits broken down into exact hits, near hits and complete misses. These, plus dozens of other Find Tempo enhancements add up to the most advanced tempo searching feature ever devised within an audio sequencer.
Multiple QuickTime movies
You can now open a separate movie window for each sequence in a project. For example, if you score TV commercials, and you have one Digital Performer project with several versions of the soundtrack (:15, :30 and :60 second versions), each sequence can reference a different QuickTime movie. When you switch from one sequence to another (by clicking its play-enable button in the Chunks window), the movie window will update itself to show the movie you chose for that sequence. There is also a preference to have all sequences reference the same movie, as in previous versions of Digital Performer.
Multiple QuickScribe windows
There is now a separate QuickScribe window for each sequence in a project. For example, if you have three sequences, you could open three separate QuickScribe windows all at once, one for each sequence. If you keep the QuickScribe window inside the Consolidated window, then there is only one QuickScribe cell that simply updates to display the currently play-enabled sequence.
Bounce to QuickTime Movie
Digital Performer 4.6 lets you export your DP soundtrack directly into a QuickTime movie with the new Bounce to QuickTime movie feature.
