I have been waiting a long time for the new features that are present in Digital Performer 4.5, especially the enhanced Pro Tools support. As I type my comments here, I am trying to remain calm, and be professional and serious, but forget it—I AM THRILLED!!!

MOTU has listened to their users and has delivered big time. They have gone all the way with Pro Tools support, which is crucial for DAE users like me. It's great to finally be able to apply Audiosuite Plug-ins such as Pitch 'n Time permanently to Soundbites. We can now use Instrument Tracks under DAE. We have full Plug-in Automation, RTAS and HTDM support, Punch-on-the-Fly, and Automatic Delay Compensation, just to name a few of the new enhancements. No longer are there any limitations under DAE.

While I was waiting and hoping that MOTU would someday add these new features, I took a look at Logic because I had heard so much about that program and its Pro Tools integration. Now there is no reason for me to look anywhere else. Also, the new Consolidated Window has allowed me to make the Sequence Editor my main window, with occasional quick glances back to the Tracks Overview.

Of all the versions of Digital Performer that I've used over the years, this one really has everything put together in a way that is intuitive and fast, making for a very streamlined workflow.

Thank you, MOTU, for stepping up to the plate and hitting it over the Green Monster.
