CueMix FX May Display an Error Message in 64-bit Windows

An error message may be displayed when opening CueMix FX in 64-bit Windows, and the error can be fixed by executing the driver installer again in the repair mode.

On some 64-bit Windows 7, Vista, or XP systems, CueMix FX may display one of the following error messages after installing a new version of the MOTU FireWire and USB audio drivers:

  • The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
  • The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.

If you see this error message, you can correct the problem by following these steps:

  1. Disconnect the audio interface from the computer or turn it off.
  2. Open the driver installer program again. Follow the prompts.
  3. Choose the Repair option (rather than Change or Remove).
  4. Follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation.
  5. Reconnect the audio interface to the computer, and turn it on.
  6. Open CueMix FX and confirm that the error message does not appear.

If you still have a problem when opening CueMix FX, please contact MOTU Technical Support.
