How to import a soundbank in MX4
With the introduction of Digital Performer 9, MX4 is now included as a built-in instrument. Along with this update, a new EDM soundbank for MX4 is also included, and is imported into the instrument's bank directory by default.
MX4 users who are working with a version of Digital Performer previous to version 9, or use the instrument in another DAW, can download the new EDM soundbank here for both Mac and Windows.
The following steps explain how to import this soundbank into MX4. These steps can also be used to import a custom soundbank, or restore previously imported soundbanks.
- Open Digital Performer and load MX4 as a new instrument track. MX4 will open with its default "Main" view.
- Click the File button.
- At the bottom of the File page, click the "Import Bank" button.
- Navigate to the location on your hard drive where the "EDM Soundbank" folder is saved. Click "Norlander EDM.patches" file, and click Open.
- Return to the Main MX4 screen and click the Bank drop-down menu. Confirm "259 Norlander EDM (120)" appears at the bottom of the list.
